Automobile Accident Insurance Lawyers Know That Alcohol Is a Leading Killer

A recent study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, confirms what Automobile Accident Lawyers have known for years. Excessive Alcohol Consumption (including binge drinking) is a leading cause of premature death. It is responsible for 10% of work age adult deaths in the US.

One in six adults (20-65 years old) has reported binge drinking at least four times a month. Binge drinking is five consecutive drinks for men and four for women.
Excessive drinking ranks just below smoking, poor nutrition and physical inactivity a leading preventable cause of death.

The annual cost of Excessive drinking in 2006 was $223.5 billion, or about $1.90 per drink.
